In the current climate it is inevitable that you will now have to pay more than you did when you took out your existing mortgage deal. Until recently, mortgage rates had continued to increase, but more recently we have seen more favourable market conditions and mortgage rates have started to decline. There are competitive mortgage deals out there but you need to make sure you shop around. Don't just assume your current mortgage lender or a mortgage broker will offer you the best mortgage deal. The majority of the best mortgage products are not available through brokers, so compare mortgage best buys to find the current best mortgage deals.

I can't imagine that any lender would offer to extend a tracker product given the current climate. When your product expires it would be worth seeing what the Halifax have to offer but don't forget to have a look what is availble elsewhere. Given how low rates are at the moment (if you have a low loan to value) it may well be worth looking at fixed rate products.

halifax will do another tracker, its called a product transfer.

depending on what kind of equity you have, they will do a cracking deal.

thanks.

Nothing is ever carved in stone so there are options and hopefully those options will at least be somewhat favourable to the situation at hand.

Good question. Have you thought about talking to their customer service center or the person in charge of your account? They may be able to advise you better.
